$63 million, 276,000-SF new high school facility includes 32 classrooms, 17 labs, student collaboration areas, and complete theatrical and athletic facilities. The new facility, which accommodates 1,400 students, was completed in time for the 2012-13 school year. This high school is more like a community college with a TV studio, and healthcare classrooms allowing students to explore specialized fields of study. The project achieved LEED® Gold certification and includes photovoltaic elements to help provide power to the school. After Redmond School District awarded Skanska their new high school, our team worked diligently with the architect to review the drawings and provide detailed analysis of cost savings to the district. Through our preconstruction efforts the team saved $5,016,776. Due in part to those savings, the district decided to add additional scope including bleachers and athletic support buildings. The savings also allowed the District to perform much needed upgrades to the existing Redmond High School.
